The Virginia Choral Society

There are several ways that patrons and friends of choral music can support VCS during the course of a concert year.  In additional to attending concerts and encouraging friends and neighbors to attend one of our concerts are are some additional ideas that provide direct support to VCS.

a.  VCS Capital Endowment Fund.  Please refer to the information at endowment fund

b. Food Lion's Shop and Share.

Food Lion has a program "Shop and Share" which permits the Food Lion patron to register their MVP card to a non-profit/charitable organization so that a percent of the purchase is provided to the non-profit/charitable organization on a quarterly basis...at no additional cost to the patron.

1.  Log onto www.foodlion.com
 2. Click on the "Lion Shop and Share" link or directly at "ShopandShare".
 3. Then select "VA" as the state, "NEWPORT NEWS" as the city, and "VIRGINIA CHORAL SOCIETY OF TIDEWATER, INC" as the organization.
 4.  Enter your MVP card number and other requested information and thereafter a % of each purchase will be contributed to VCS by Food Lion.  This is an annual process.
 5.  Call 1-704-633-8250, extension 3810 for any assistance.

c. Virginia Diner Peanuts and Products. One A delicious way to provide support to VCS is by purchasing Virginia Diner products either from VCS members or at the Virginia Diner website, www.virginiadiner.com .  40% of your purchases from the website  are provided to VCS to support the operational requirements of the choral society.   When you click on "Start Shopping", you will need to identify VCS as the non-profit group.  VCS is located in "REGION" at the"VIRGINIA-NEWPORT NEWS" choice and there you'll find "Virginia Choral Society, Inc". You may then begin shopping.

Twice a year, Fall and Spring, VCS has a Virginia Diner fund-raising campaign to raise funds for VCS operations.  From this member-led campaign, 50% of the sales are returned to VCS to help with costs for orchestra, venue rent/support and other operating needs of the society.
