Statement of Purpose
Since its inception, the Virginia Choral Society’s purpose has been to enhance the quality of life by performing the finest choral music to inspire audiences of all ages. The purpose of the Virginia Choral Society, Inc. shall be to promote, educate, and advocate a broad range of excellent choral music for the cultural enrichment of the citizens of Hampton Roads. The Society's Program Committee diligently selects three distinct programs to challenge and accent the choir's talents as well as to entertain. The Society strives to raise community awareness of all facets of the performing arts.
The Virginia Choral Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and presentation of fine choral music in Hampton Roads. The Virginia Choral Society has enhanced the cultural life of the area since 1931.
The goals of the Virginia Choral Society are to:
- foster a broader awareness of vocal music in the community
- provide opportunities choral traditions in education
- cooperate with other groups in support of the arts
- continue our long tradition of presenting only the finest compositions from our rich choral heritage.
